Virtual conversation is social media

Make no mistake about it – virtual conversations are driving the social web. Sure sharing links and re-tweeting others content is part of it; but it's just one aspect of many parts that make up the overall social media experience. To build a presence and establish authority you must engage the community. Whether it's on the Twitter platform, your Facebook page or your blog community, there is no other way for people to get to know who you are, what your expertise is and what makes you tick you as an individual unless you are contributing to the conversation.

Here is an article Ari Herzog posted on his blog about my friend Bill Dorman: "What Bill Dorman Can Teach Us About Value." Bill has done an incredible job of building a community. He's done it in just the last few months and all of his growth and credibility came from engaging people in a transparent open manner. He's becoming a rock star by just being himself, bringing humor to the conversation and adding value — on other people's blogs! As a result, he has started a great community on his own blog. This can work for anybody willing to be themselves and who desire to build relationships and add value to conversations.

The social web can be a great place to grow your business or just meet cool interesting people, however, it's the conversation that people will judge you by and it will ultimately determine the quality of your overall social media experience. No engagement, no value — lot's of engagement, lots of value… And then of course there's the in-between :p

You can find out about anything on the social web… From breaking news stories to access to the best products and services in marketplace; its instant access to real-time conversations on what's hot and what's not based on what people are saying right now about the subject matter — and not what a highly optimized website for search engines says about it. Conversations drive all of the content that's being consumed on the social web. They influence consumer buying decisions and mobilize concerned citizens to get behind worthy causes. If the information shared on the social web fell on deaf ears and nobody talked about it or shared their discoveries, social media would be dead.

If you are trying to figure out how to go about participating on the social web, a good starting point would be joining in conversations that are of interest to you. This will get you traction fast and can help you establish a presence on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and even your personal or business blog. The longer you stay on the sidelines as a bystander looking in, the longer it will take for you experience the benefits the social web can provide.

Oh, there are many great future friendships waiting for you too, so jump in already!

How has joining the conversation on the social web impacted your social media experience?

Hey Mark. I’ve had Twitter for a year or so but I never realized how to fully maximize it. For me it was just a way to get news from my favorite websites. My local friends didn’t use it.

Then I slowly started to learn how to use it once I started my blog. Now I use it as a way to have conversations. I’ve had some good short conversations and met some cool people so far in the two months I’ve fully used it. I really love it.

Question though, I’ve read that we should always reply to our @replies. I do this because I really don’t have that many to reply to and if someone asks me something or makes a comment about me, I’m happy to reply.

However when I try to get into conversations or answer a question
that someone asked, they don’t reply. I’m not talking about big huge Twitter personalities but fellow bloggers. Should I get the hint to not engage with them in the future?

If I was at a party and tried to talk to a girl/guy and they ignored me, I’d get the hint. Just on Twitter, I’m not sure.

Mark, joining the conversation has allowed me to meet fascinating people, enjoy varying perspectives and let my thoughts and writing skills develop. Dipping a toe into the water just wasn’t my style: I plunged in head first onto those sites that have valuable content and vibrant interaction. I love the friends I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned and the connections that enrich the tapestry of my life. That’s the upside.

The downside? I spend so much time reading interesting blogs, creating thoughtful (I hope:) comments, researching to the nth degree, that my own blog has suffered “separation anxiety.” I’m a voracious lifelong learner, so my thirst for knowledge combined with my pay-it-forward-extrovert-personality means I can become so immersed in all the greatness out there that I find myself like the cobbler whose children shall remain shoeless.

But I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. It’s made me grow as a person and, in turn, made me even better in business. I’m lovin’ life and livin’ it to the max, and friendships, conversations, interaction and connections (what social media really is) are the spice of that life. Cheers! Kaarina

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Hey Benny, I’m sure many of them are probably missing your @ reply. I try to reply to every @ reply too, but as your conversation grow, you’ll start noticing that you miss some of the people @ replying you.

One place that is harder to be missed is in the comment section of a blog. The more you can get folks over to your place and engaged in conversation, or even you visiting other blogs – here is where relationships can really blossom and strong connection can be developed.

Like you, I’m a social creature of habit… I want to have conversations with other folks and if I don’t ever get any feedback, I simply move on. There are many blogs that do the same thing – you leave a comment never to have a response back and that is not social.

My advice to you is never stop reaching out to engage others on the social web. Here is where all of the value will develop. As for those who aren’t so social, move on… it’s their loss.

Thanks for popping in there and sharing your thoughts… I look forward to many conversations in the future : )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Kaarina, you’ve got me all excited by your worlds here miss.

I just love this: “I plunged in head first onto those sites that have valuable content and vibrant interaction.”I believe if more people had this attitude, it would completely take out mystery of social media. I too love the connections and friendships I’ve developed by participating on the social web… they make the effort well worth it and enrich my life as well. The social web can change your life – it can be a vibrant spicy part of life that you’re missing. If you’re looking for the value it provides, look no further than the people that are participating in the space.

I’ve never tapped into such a brilliant and giving community of people in my life. It’s simply loaded with value of all shapes and sizes and kinds.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here Kaarina, I really appreciate your support : )

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

My pleasure Mark…and I’m gonna’ start using your words “vibrant spicy” side-by-side when referring to social media benefits:)

    Hi Mark,
If you aren’t willing to develop the computer and social skills to network effectively via social media then you are consigned to playing life small. To me it’s that simple.Riley

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

I love this add Riley… I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to have to use this saying of yours on my social travels : )

    Cheers to you sir!

    Hi Mark,
First, let me say @bdorman264:twitter growth online should be a case study. Seriously did you how fast he is growing? Leaving us all in the dust.

Now regarding conversations online, I think many people are still not online. Actually the majority aren’t. Does this mean they can’t meet great people?
No but it sure is a lot slower.

I’m glad I got online last fall, I wouldn’t have met you and the great community we share :)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Yes, that @bdormam264:disqus is too much!

It goes to show how effective just visiting other blogs and contributing value and building relationships can do for your social media efforts.

It helps that he’s hilarious and sharp as a tack too…

But seriously John, all of the momentum he’s built is a direct result of building relationships with others on their blogs. It really should be a case study!

I’m happy we’ve become friends as well John. I was hoping this post just might get a couple of new folks participating in the conversation : )

Thanks for stopping by sir : )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    LOL, looks like I forgot a comma : )

    My typing is horrible!

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

Oh Mark, I didn’t even notice that…I just loved the “vibrant spicy” the way it stood! I think it’s my new favourite two word, no comma adjective:)

Not a problem, glad you liked it

Just wanted to drop in and say hello and thank you for your support; I’ll be back a little later.

  • http://getbusylivingblog.com Benny Hsu

Thanks Mark for your advice. That’s what I’ll do. Just move on and focus on people who actually want to connect.

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Hey Bill, it’s good to see you sir…

This is all your fault, if you would stop dropping loads of value and laughs all over the blogosphere, everyone would leave you alone – hehe!

I liked Johns suggestion; you should assemble a case study on how to build a rockin’ community with no platform of your own!

You’re a good dude Bill, you deserve all the success in the world bro : )

Dang, the Bill Dormam discussion in bleeding over on other blogs now!

I did that too Kaarina, just jumped right in. However, I’m the guy that will walk thru a handshake to get a hug so I typically don’t lay back.

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Dude, between you, Davina and Ari have I already reached my zenith and there is only one way to go from here?

I have to tell you a personal story; last wk was kind of a crazy wk business-wise and I wasn’t as plugged in as I wanted to be. I saw all these great parties going on and was feeling a little neglected. Then wham, bam, thank you ma’am; Davina had me in a post, Ari did a feature on me, and then you included me too. I’m such a baby sometimes……why do you guys put up w/ me?

Now that I’m a rock star all the people in my office want to know what my secret sauce is. If you don’t mind I am going to forward them your post. It is a great summation of what this is all about.

I do appreciate your hand out to help me step up; and of course, it’s back to reality tomorrow.

Good to see you and thanks so much for your support.

@markharai:disqus and @johnfalchetto:disqus Can I do the case study? :)

  • http://www.allisondevelopmentgroup.com Erica Allison

There’s that @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus again. He’s clearly got a grip on this whole social media thing and will no longer be given a free pass around here. He’s got it. Now go run with it, Bill!

Great overview, @markharai:disqus – you are the emcee here in the virtual social media hang out and I for one am glad to be attending the party. I don’t get here as much as I’d like, but when I do, it’s pretty awesome. thanks!

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

Now I know why I like you so much Bill:)

  • http://www.itinerantentrepreneur.com/journal/ Robert Dempsey

And thus via blog post I am introduced to this new character @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus – I’ll have to take a look so I can speak reasonably. And speaking of speaking reasonably…

Here I’ve been thinking communication was a two way street all along. I must have been misinformed @markharai:disqus ! -1 for me.

Since joining Twitter in 2007 I’ve found the best use of it is to get people out of it as soon as possible. So, I seek out people to form relationships with on Twitter, and then take it “offline” (is Skype considered offline?), and then continue the conversations via social media. The same goes for Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, and everything else people consider “social media.”

One distinct advantage that this brings however is that we can jump into conversations already taking place without being jerks. So unlike butting into a conversation at a party, joining in is instead encouraged, expect for those that turn off comments on their blogs. Then the goal is to find the conversations where you can provide value, and thereby increase your reach.

While it might be argued that less than stellar people can use the same techniques to gain popularity too, the ability for them to do so is less and less as ultimately they will be filtered out by everyone.

+1 for more of that happening. Let’s just make sure we don’t quiet the voices that are providing less popular but necessary messages too.

  • Anonymous

Oh man, if I could even begin to describe what social media has done to, and for me these past few months…

I’ll break it down as best I can: you remember the GP I did on Danny Brown’s site? That for me was a ‘release’ of the build-up that had come from using social media, especially Facebook and Twitter, for the months gone by. At the time, me and my girlfriend were involved in a ‘Facebook fury’, which thankfully got cleared up. But it got me thinking about the conversations we have in social media; unlike mine, not all of them end well.

Social media has been a god-send for me, and it’s enabled my work to spread, as well as me spreading the work of others. I use the two big sites frequently, and am always interested in getting more productivity out of them. But what I don’t do is become addicted. At least, I try not to.

Steve Pavlina wrote an article on his site about forum addiction, which he experienced for a time. He could just have easily wrote that about social media, the symptoms were the same. Social media can be an addiction, like forums and chatrooms and drugs and alcohol, so the same rules apply.

BTW, this guy ‘Bill Dorman’, is he any good? ;-)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Yikes! Hopefully not too many people suffer from this disease Stu!

The one word that comes to mind when I see you around the blogosphere is “substance.”

You always have something deep to share that’s applicable to life right now!

I appreciate your work very much Stu and you’ve always been a great support since we’ve hooked up on Marcus’s blog. I’m looking forward to being part of each other’s journey for years to come : )

Don’t get sucked in to the social media vacuum, we need your mind to be fresh… Just get out there and jog it off!

    Who’s Bill Dorman?

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    Yo Robert!

I noticed that I get a lot more traffic than I get comments, so I thought this might get some of the lurkers to come out and join us : )

You said something profound; maybe some folks that have not jumped into the conversation feel that it would be rude to jump in the middle of a conversation?

I believe everyone has a voice and substantive words to lend a conversation. Even if it’s just a question or observation. I mean, we are in a community of professionals and business types… I think it’s safe to say we attract folks that into that sort of thing, yes?

You need to have a little grace and patience too Robert – you’re way ahead of many in the community!

Thanks for popping over bro, I appreciate it ; )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Thanks for stopping by here Erica, you always brighten up the room when you walk in : )

This Bill guy is just making us look bad Erica… He’s too smart, too funny and lives in a limousine – haha!

It’s just great to see Bill get all of this attention he deserves. It’s called adding value and making the social web a great place to spend time and Bill definitely adds to the fun and experience of it all.

In the coming months and years, I really believe big things will come from our mutual friends around the social web, including you!

It has the makings of an interesting journey for all of us : )

A big “cheers” to you Erica!

  • http://www.itinerantentrepreneur.com/journal/ Robert Dempsey

Patience @markharai:disqus has never been my strong suit :)

  • http://www.allisondevelopmentgroup.com Erica Allison

Mark, you know how to make a girl smile! Yes, totally agree with you that big things, real things, will begin to materialize for our mutual friends, me included! :)

In the meantime, I’ll keep working on a way to head down to CR to meet you and the fam in person! Best to you, Mark!

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

I’m with you Marianne! When I started to really engage folks on Twitter, the experience was enhanced 10-fold… The same goes for blogging.

I’m not a writer like many of our friends, however, participating on the social web is helping me become a better communicator and writer too.

I’m learning many things everyday and much of that is about myself.

Thanks for sharing a piece of your mind here today Marianne, I appreciate you ; )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    Love it Bill!

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Now that you’ve arrived, you can’t leave!

You must continue to feed the community and grow your craft. I’m just a student of life and I know I can learn many things from you… ; )

I love that you downsized out of a house in to a car with no wheels… talk about living modest!

Cheers to a wild fun ride Bill – the future holds so much potential and possibility. It will most interesting to see where @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus goes from here : )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    I think that’s a great idea Erica!

  • http://hustlersnotebook.com Jk Allen

Hey Mark – virtual conversation is social media!

Before I realized how important it was to join the conversations that happen throughout the social web, I felt like I was on an island – all alone. Barely no readers to my blog – not interactions with others, and it was just flat-out boring.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that doing what I do offline, would pay dividends online as well. What I mean by this is that I’m a naturally social person. I connect with people in real life; network, talk business, agree and disagree on certain subjects, and all other aspects of a conversation.

It’s not only helped promote growth to my blog – but it has helped promote personal growth as well. Getting out and learning from others perspective helps expand my own.

I’ve made some very solid relationships online via my blog and joining the conversations of others. The cool thing is that I’m starting to get the same effects from Twitter…which I’ve taken a great liking to.

Great stuff Mark – hope all is well in CR!

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Good thing I still have wireless; stay away from that other site so I get some business done here. I need to see all my friends…..:)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Hey Jk, good to see you sir! I think this is probably the case for most of us who are participating on the social web… except of course for that @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus guy… He’s a bit smarter than most of us!

The real social media experience doesn’t start until you jump in with both feet and start mingling with folks.

The same thing will happen on Twitter too Jk… it’s no different. It just happens to be 140 character at a time : )

Keep rockin’ the social media world Jk!

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Hey, I like that; I might use it first……..

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Man, the guy is everywhere! I didn’t see you standing there Bill – haha!

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

You are on an island no more my man; I’ll trade my one day of fame to the roots you and Mark have established. I said ‘roots’, but you know that was in a non-racial way, right? My tan brother JK; can I say that to you too, Mark?
Signed, the pasty fat white guy…….

That would be so much fun Erica!

I have a tribe here, they get a bit loud, but they are great kids : )

I appreciate @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus for mentioning your Mother’s Day post. Just dumbfounded.

There is good news in this I suppose; I won’t be missing another article you post.

Have a wonderful day Erica and you will be seeing more of me!

Like I said Bill, I didn’t even take it as a punctuation error: I just loved the “vibrant spicy” as it stood. And we’re now in a race to use it in a sentence in our blogs:) Stay tuned! And Mark…I’ll be sure to give credit where credit is due:)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    Hehe!

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

We’re all growing together and that’s a beautiful thing… it’s the way it should be.

You know Bill, my mother was Spanish and French, my father was Hawaiian and Japanese and I was born and raised an American… so I represent quite a few roots :P

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

That happens daily with me Bill – and it annoys me to no end. Same with my blog posts. Everything takes me ten times the effort and work. It doesn’t matter if I proof read it 20 times, there’s always glaring mistakes – and those are the mistakes I see! I’m sure there are many others.

I can only hope through time and practice I can get better. I’ve made friends with the most brilliant writers on the web — tell me that wasn’t dumb… Now I have to somehow work my butt off just keep up with you guys and it’s a daunting task!

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Let the race begin @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus – @kaarinadillabough:disqus who will hit publish first?? :p

    Hi Mark
It’s almost impossible not to get involved in the myriad of conversations on the web – so many to choose from and something for everyone.

Find the conversations you like, for whatever reason, subscribe to comments and subscribe to email post updates and away you go.
You are part of the conversation.

Drop in on the conversation, talk to people as though you were in the pub together and… have a good time.
To make it more realistic, pour yourself a large white wine and then start chatting. LOL

Always enjoy chatting here Mark – I think it’s your round next.

  • http://www.thesaleslion.com/ Marcus Sheridan,The Sales Lion

One thing I see so much of is people who blog often, tweet often, and do lots of stuff—but they still never build relationships. This is that missing link between general achievement and great success. The conversation, interaction, and real communion must occur, otherwise it’s just a simple +1 on your tweet count or comment list.

Great thoughts Mark. You’re really making it happen, and thanks also for highlighting that nut

    Hi Marcus
When I started blogging I rushed from site to site looking for a few links, but slowly the relationships start to grow.

You end up commenting more and more on less and less sites.

Relationships and people you like and admire.

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Did you just call me the missing link?

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

I’ve been there and done that too Marcus… that’s why I say much of the same things throughout my posts these days. It’s the difference between night and day and I really want folks to experience the difference.

If people would just add a tiny bit more effort into building relationships with their social outreach you mention above, they would hit pay dirt.

Thanks for the encouraging words Marcus – you’re always a great inspiration : )

P.S. I know I only have a tiny community here, but if you have the time, I would love to have the Lions paw prints here as a permanent fixture. I know you’re busy all get out, but if you might consider a guest post here, please let me know : )

I hear you Keith. There are so many great folks to connect with, but only so much time in a day. I have not had the pleasure of connecting with you like I would like to. There’s no excuse, I’m just limited on time. That kind of blows because I know I’m missing out on some good stuff. I absolutely don’t know how you guys stay so connected and invest so much time in the community. I’m jealous!

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

One track mind Mark – one track mind haha!

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

I don’t know, it doesn’t seem to be working too well for me……

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

And then there’s JackB — whom I have not had the pleasure of really connecting with like I would like. You are just lighting up the community Jack!

Please excuse my bad manners, but it’s really a time thing, not a desire thing.

As you already know, we are very much in agreement on “people making the experience.”

Thank you for your support and dropping a piece of you mind here sir ; )

  • http://easypublicspeaking.co.uk/ Keith Davis

    Jealous?
The guy who won the Sales Lion strap line competition jealous.
    You’re pulling my….. leg.

    You know where I am.

    Keith

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

You would think Keith, but there are awesome folks constantly coming out of the woodwork..

Investing time developing relationships normally comes later in the social cycle. First you share links. Then thank a lot of people. Then share more links. Then thank a lot of people.

This is almost developing relationships – but this only goes so far. You literally need to dive into conversations and make some new friendships. This is where many people draw a line in the sand and miss the value the social web has to offer.

And that’s just those who are on the social web. Many folks don’t have a clue about any of this stuff.

It will be interesting to see how much impact the communities we frequent will have on the social community at large – there are some interesting things coming together out there : )

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Keep you head up Bill. Not everyone can rock the social web. If you just keep working at it, one day you will get some comments too :P

BTW, my house is your house too Mr. Dorman. If you ever need a place to try to get some comments, you can give this place a try – hehe!

(dang, I might need to get more space from my hosting company!)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Jeez, at least I contributed something!

You really do have a way with words Mark, you never fail to make me smile! Thanks :-)

I’ve been on Bill Dorman’s site, and I still don’t know who he is…

  • http://www.3hatscommunications.com/blog/ davinabrewer

Ok Stu that’s the 2nd reference to Steve Pavlina I’ve seen today and I will have to go check out that post for sure. I too was hooked on the forums for a while, see a lot of parallels to social media. Goes to the heart of this: interest and motivation; we seek and search what we find interesting, motivated to really put something into it for work, for fun, etc. FWIW.

Oh, and watch out for that Bill guy. Once he visits a blog, he never leaves. Shameless. ;-)

  • http://www.3hatscommunications.com/blog/ davinabrewer

Whatever your ‘it’ is, there’s a ‘social’ side Mark. Maybe it’s a chat room on a TV show or video game, maybe it’s love of bass fishing, maybe there are folks who really like beer coozies. I’d guess there’s a Tumblr or tweeter out there with similar love. I think that’s what drive this as much as anything: it’s by choice. Don’t always pick your family and friends, but in the social world you do.

As to what I’ve gotten out of this: readers and subscribers, followers and some business interest. Beyond that, read @kaarinadillabough:disqus and hit the ‘co-signed’ button. I gotta work smarter, find ways to make all this work work for me. FWIW.

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

No kidding, huh? After all that build up from Ari I was expecting something awesome. I got over there and the dude didn’t even have a front door.

I think Ari might have made him up…..just sayin’…..

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Sorry Benny; I’m kinda big now and I just can’t be replying to everybody……..

Sometimes your @ replies will get lost in the stream unless you have HootSuite or something to segment them out. Mine will show up on my phone so that’s how I know. I reply to EVERYBODY; just ask Mark.

    Mark did make @UnlockTheDoor:disqus
good point, it is the blogs where you are more apt to get dialogue going back and forth. I’ve had some hit and misses, it took 4 times before Mark would respond to me but then I found his telephone #; those phone calls at 3 am aren’t too funny are they Mark?

Mark as good guy; watch what he does and emulate that and you will do quite well.

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Nah, I heard he was all show and no substance; I wouldn’t put any money on him….

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

    How to be a ho……….

  • http://billdorman.wordpress.com Bill Dorman

Tell me and teach me when you have it figured out….

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Well, you’re a business professional Davina, and a darn smart one! The right connections, relationships and opportunities will make themselves available at the right time.

We build businesses. That’s what we do. Just have an eye out for the right opportunity, connection, potential business partnership, or clients that materialize from your efforts. If you’re looking for them, you’ll identify them eventually.

I can say I wasn’t looking at doing any business with Srini. We are now working on many projects because a door opened and it looked like a solid door to walk through.

I have several things I’m working on or part of that are a result of relationships I’ve made participating on the social web.

In due time Davina : )

@kaarinadillabough:disqus we need to do something with this @a76049f6a32a1e633a732b81bafb98c9:disqus guy!

Does he know you’re a black belt?

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

Ah, the gauntlet’s been thrown down…I’m getting out my copyright/TM/IP binders as we speak! As Mark warns, I have my blackbelt:)

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

Cat’s out of the bag now Mark. Bill’s been warned. (and Mark, I’ve been having an ongoing problem getting my @ tabs to work. I’m doing it right but it’s not working! Got a message in to disqus. I feel like, after imploding car windows, I’m jinxed!)

  • http://www.kaarinadillabough.com Kaarina Dillabough

Wow Davina, thanks for the tip of the hat (yes, pun intended). I’m honoured!
(and I’d @ your name if only disqus would let me. Am I the only one in the universe that can’t get the @ tab to work? I know I’m doing it properly. And just now when I tried to space down, “unlock the door” magically tabbed in. What the dillio?)

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

    Hmm, I haven’t been having any problems…

If I was a bettin’ man, my money would be on you… Bill’s had a busy week LOL!

Today social media is like one shop solution because when you like any blog or website relating to your interest you add it on your facebook wall and then get every update.

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

Actually I was surprised that FB is my number one source of traffic. It bounces back and forth from FB and Twitter…

BTW, thanks @MarcusSheridan:disqus that’s cool information to know – LOL!

A virtual office space gives your business all the high quality services you expect from an executive assistant. It goes beyond that though. A virtual office space gives you access to other services as well, from conference room to mailing and pickup services. Because you pool the cost with other businesses, you can get service at a higher level but with a lower cost.
Most businesses are not so busy that they need a dedicated full-time receptionist or meeting rooms and business services. However, these things are key to growing a successful business. Thus we can say that serviced offices or virtual offices are a good part of our office startup.

Well there is still a wireless network, stay away from that other site to get some business done here. This is the missing link in the overall implementation and success.

Nowadays, social media is one of the powerful tools used by many business establishments around the globe. It will only depend on what will be the impact of heir strategies to their prospect customers.

  • Mark

I missed this Davina, sorry for the late response…

That is one thing you can definitely do on social networking sites; find many people who inspire you, motivate you, move you… Its far and few between that you can meet people in person that you really connect with and enjoy the conversation. These become our friends and people we spend time with. With social media, there are so many interesting people – it’s like a  never ending friend supply line that grows by the day.

Here is where you need to really establish your goals and time spent on social media; otherwise your time will evaporate.

Always great to hear from you miss : )
