What is social media?

Simple – platforms to connect with other people on the internet.

How exactly can this benefit your business?

Everything you’ve done in business has been a result of connecting with people who like you.

Do you think anyone who didn’t like you bought something from you?

Well, maybe – if it was price driven or too convenient for them to go some place else to buy what they needed.

How have you connected with your customers thus far without social media?

Well, it’s the same exact process, only you’re not limited by location, time or expense. In fact, this could be the most cost effective marketing you’ll ever do!

It all started by talking with potential customers and giving them the comfort level and trust they needed to buy from you.

The one thing that can make the biggest difference in the future of your business in 2012 is connecting with others through your writing, videos and/or podcasts before they make a buying decision.

This takes time of course, but in the 6 to 12 months you can build a steady stream of new business you’re not getting now… Would that be helpful to you?

If you do this effectively, just like you’ve been doing all along offline, when folks need the product or service you offer - they will buy it from you.

Why? Because they like you. They trust you. They will tell their friends about you. They will help you grow your business.

Your customers were attracted to your words and personality

If you demonstrate these same qualities on the social web, people will be attracted to you there as well.

As a result, a whole new avenue to connecting with your future customers will open up to you because at the end of the day, people don’t just buy products and services, they buy YOU.

Mark Harai can help you start your business and grow your business by effectively leveraging the social web. To find out more, simply Click Here.

Some people in social think they need to build their business platform without being social; it’s all business. I think there has to be some engagement and if you take the time to get to know people, you can always use this to create other opportunities and/or relationships.

More times than not in my world, they are buying from me; not my company.

    Hi Mark
It’s well said here yet challenging to do well with all the other things involved with running a business and managing a blog etc. How do you balance your time so you are social in social media?

  • http://markharai.com Mark Harai

I know your a people person Bill, with some exceptional communication skills.

The insurance business requires relationships build on trust… and humor in your case!

I think that actually gives you an edge, doesn’t it?

Some people have all the talent and some just have to bust their butt to get to the top!

Thanks for leaving your fingerprints here today sir : )

That is easier said then done Lori!

I have a commitment to social media for the future of my business, so I make time for it.

Like any form of marketing you do for your business, it requires commitment, consistency and follow up.

Where the time comes from, and whether the that time is a good investment of your time can only be determined by you.

I always thought cloning was an interesting idea :P

    Hi Mark,

What you’re saying is not only true, but I believe that it’s crucial for any business. I almost never do business with people I don’t like. If I do, their products have to be unique and brilliant (like Apple’s products). And even then, I wouldn’t buy them in their store, but online (if I felt that I really needed to have their products).

Like I have said before, when I’m out on a restaurant, I usually don’t go for the best food, but for the best experience. And to me, the best experience is always related to people and not just the product (food).

Hope you’re having an awesome weekend Mark.

I think this is true for most people Jens… The experience makes all the difference for repeat customers.

Always great to see you sir, thanks for popping in : )
